Whoa! Salman bug bites Miss Universe, Olivia Culpo

Olivia Culpo, the 21 year old Miss Universe, now on a tour to India for women empowerment, is keen to act with Bollywood star Salman Khan. The American model seems to be smitten by bollywood: `I would love to work with Salaman Bhai,`she told reporters in Delhi recently.
Salman and Olivia are working together on some social projects especially against female foeticide. Olivia is amused to find how dedicated the fans in India are and how sincerely they follow the movies of their respective favourites. `I want to be part of it too,` she says.

On Nina Davuluria, first ever Indian-American to win the Miss America title she says that the racial remarks made against Davuluria (even calling her a terrorist) are unfortunate and outrageous. She adds that many of the girls in America are from Italian, Indian or African descent. There is no big deal about it. America needs to do a better job to project itself positively.

When asked about her singer boyfriend Nick Jonas, Olivia blushed. Queried if she had any plans to sing with Jonas brothers, she maintained that I wouldn't be singing with him anytime soon, though I myself loved singing.

Anushka, Parineeti pay tribute to Nargis, Madhubala

Actress Anushka Sharma and Parineeti Chopra paid a tribute to yesteryear actresses Nargis and Madhubala at a fashion show organised for the birth anniversary of the late filmmaker
Yash Chopra. Dressed in their traditional best, Bollywood leading ladies Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukherji, Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra walked the ramp for a fashion show in memory of late filmmaker Yash Chopra on his birth anniversary this evening at YRF studio. Besides the models, the show saw a theme, where the popular songs from the respective films of all the nine heroines except Anushka and Parineeti, were played in the background as they walked the ramp.

The show began with an audio message that Anushka Sharma will pay tribute to Nargis and Parineeti to Madhubala. The mood was set as that of that golden era. Anushka wore a black colour sari and teamed it up with a red colour bhindi and Parineeti was seen in a heavy embroidery red colour lehenga. Sridevi, who looked elegant in Rajputana Rajhasthani wine colour ghagra, said she misses Chopra.

Madhuri dazzled the ramp in a black colour sequence sari. Priety Zinta and Parineeti Chopra spoke about having paratha's with Chopra. "All these actresses have one thing common...being directed by Yash Chopra...something I missed out on. But I had the honour of meeting him almost everyday, whenever I was here (YRF studio), having lunch with him. Wish him happy birthday from all of us," Parineeti said. Preity Zinta, who wore Kashmiri white sharara, said "May his soul rest in peace ...we all miss you."

Juhi said she was overwhelmed on being part of Chopra's films at the early stage of her career. "I had stepped into the film industry and he casted me for a guest appearance in 'Chandani'...it was a dream come true. Later, I worked with him in 'Darr'. I am happy I got to work with him. I am excited to be here to celebrate his birth anniversary," she said.

Shah Rukh Khan was joined by Yash Chopra's heroines on the ramp in a special tribute to the late filmmaker. "I am happy to have worked with him in so many films. I got chance to be with him...interviewed him on his last birthday. He looked at the inner beauty of women and presented them in a beautiful way," SRK said.

Shah Rukh, who had teamed up with Chopra in his last four films 'Darr', 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Veer-Zara' and 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', had interviewed the director last year on his 80th birthday. Yash Chopra's wife Pamela Chopra had planned to celebrate her late husband's birth anniversary in a unique manner. She organised a fashion show to showcase India's first cinema inspired ethnic couture brand Diva'ni.

"I am delighted and pleased that all the wonderful divas, friends and family joined me in celebrating my husband's birth anniversary together this evening. Today's special commemoration is most befitting and I couldn't have asked for anything more," Pamela said. The veteran filmmaker died last year on October 21.

The fashion show primarily consisted of Indian wear -- choli, lehenga, sharara, laacha, sari, salwar suit and long gowns. The nine heroines wore the collection designed by Parinita Saluja and Anjali Dongre.

Deepika Padukone - The mistress of spices

Rasam powder from Deepika Padukone's kitchen has made its way to several other Bollywood homes
Deepika Padukone swears by the rasam powder that lines the shelves of her kitchen cupboard. The Bangalore girl has it specially made as rasam rice is her favourite.

Those who have eaten at her home know the distinct taste of the spicy rasam from the star's kitchen. Says a source, `Guests who have savoured it say it is a treat for the tastebuds. So much so that the actress even shares the spicy rasam powder with her close ones in Mumbai.`

Adds the source, `Everyone who has had the dish at Deepika's home knows exactly why it is loved so much. It is made in big quantities as it is distributed to a whole list of people who request her for it. Anyone who has ever enjoyed the special rasam at her place, always adds their name to her rasam powder delivery list. Dippy's homemade rasam powder is flavourful minus the loaded preservatives that is available in stores.

The powder is made under the standing instructions of the actress. There is the right blend of the various ingredients like coriander seeds, dried red chillies, dal, cumin seeds and peppercorns. In fact, the star makes it a point that the rasam powder is delivered to her industry friends and other close pals regularly whenever a new stock is made.

Aditi hates the term 'item song'?

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari is totally against the term "item song". She says she won't mind being a part of a "dance number" as long as it is graceful.
"I hate the word item song. For me, an item song is when a girl wears small clothes and looks sexy...I don't want to look cheap. For me, grace is important. So I don't think I will do item number. But yes, if it's a dance number, I would love to do it," Aditi said here.

The actress is busy promoting her forthcoming film "Boss", in which she has even donned a bikini. She says she is happy with the positive response to her look in the movie which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role.

"I was asked not to lose weight (for the movie), but I worked hard and toned my body. I wanted to go for a naturally feminine body. I did a lot of body exercise. I ate healthy, I am happy that people have liked it. I am happy that the feedback has been very positive," added the actress, earlier seen in movies like "Rockstar" and "London, Paris, New York".

"Boss", directed by Anthony D'Souza, releases Oct 16.

Why was Kangna left fuming?

Kangna Ranaut is known to have quite a bold image in her films but looks like a sequence of scenes in her upcoming film 'Rajjo' got too hot to handle for the actress
Kangs was required to shoot a love scene with a 17-year-old lad. However, the actress expressed her discomfort, given the tender age of her co-star and the makers were forced to alter the screenplay.

Kangs plays a nautch girl in Vishwas Patil's film. According to unit members, Kangs was in for a surprise when she discovered her co-star Paras Arora was all of seventeen. Kangna spent a lot of time interacting with Paras on the sets but found him extremely shy and uncomfortable.

Says a source, `Paras looked like a kid to Kangna. They were both very uncomfortable at the prospect of shooting love scenes. The actress conveyed her decision to the director.` Says Kangs, `Paras was too young for the scenes. He is a kid.`

A friend of the actress says, `Kangna was against shooting intimate scenes with a young boy. After all, he is a minor. The unit members thought the film would be handed out an 'A' certificate but the makers have done away with the scene altogether.`

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is furious over the debate going on in the media about her weight. `Whys is everyone bothered about my weight? Is it a national issue?` she asks.

In fact Vidya had put on some extra kilos to suit her role in The Dirty Picture (2011) but her new assignment with Emran Hashmi as a flourist requires a slimmer figure, hence she is shedding the extra kilos.
